"Only by learning to live in harmony with your contradictions, can you keep it all afloat" -Audre Lorde.
Howdy, I go by Mel (they/them pronouns) and I'm incredibly excited to meet you! I come this role with experience in the hospice and K-12 settings. I am equipped to work with several populations/barriers including: LGBTQIA+ individuals, Hispanic/Latine families, individuals with disabilities, addiction, financial stressors, social anxiety, and depression. I strive to facilitate an environment where you are able to feel safe exploring all the parts that make you, you. I do not strictly use any one approach in counseling. However, I tend to lean on internal family systems and expressive arts therapy through the lens of several theoretical frameworks such as intersectionality, reproductive justice, and disability justice. Understanding your core memories, strengths, needs, barriers, and social systems, all come before selecting any modality. This will be a collaborative experience to assist you in processing the bad, good, and everything in between.
